LIONS SIGN DOYLE

Leicester have named Jason Doyle as the first confirmed member of their top five for next season. The Australian captained Somerset to the league and cup double last season and along with teammate Josh Grajczonek they won the Premier League Best Pairs competition.

“To say I am delighted that Jason has agreed to ride for Leicester is an understatement. He is an inspirational leader and a highly respected person. Under his leadership Somerset have become a fashionable team and very hard to beat and I am sure that our two young British reserves, Tom Perry and Max Clegg will look forward to working with Jason next season” stated the Lions Promoter David Hemsley.

Doyle achieved a closing 9.79 match average, figures only bettered by one other rider in the Premier League and when commitments for Somerset allowed, Doyle rode regularly in the Elite League for Birmingham where he was a key member of the team that reached the Play-off Final against Poole. The Lions new signing ended the year occupying a heat leader position in the Brummies’ team and the twenty-eight year old will line-up as one of the spearheads in Leicester’s team.
